- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough. Add raisins and nuts if desired.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and slice into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
P.S: For extra fluffy rolls, let the dough rise twice! You can also drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk for a sweet finish.
